I’ve been thinking a lot about the internet, society, and other things in a meta way recently, so I’ll probably be writing more blog posts throughout this social distancing period.
I appreciate the meta deep dive on your post. I’ve thought about this topic before at a different angle, but also how our online profile images and avatars change over time. When I was 15-18, this profile picture mostly defined my presence on the Internet:
But now I have the avatar with my actual face in it. I think part of what has changed is I also became aware of my global Internet presence beyond just expressing myself on individual sites.
